- The filters. If the filters are still the ones from the start of the summer, they are at the end of their life. A better filter is the single highest-leverage change a building can make, and it is the one most owners have never done.

- The ventilation. A crowded office builds up carbon dioxide. High CO2 is tied to lower cognitive performance. Make sure the system is bringing in enough fresh air, not just recirculating the same air.
